Thanks to all for contributing biomass samples that were recently collected for testing – we were able to analyse a variety of samples of wheat straw, barley straw, oaten hay and canola residue from across the district. The lab has now processed these and it’s fair to say that there appears to be broad consistency across the samples (with some exception wrt canola, as expected), which is a good thing! Importantly, this work also means we will also be able to open ourselves up to collection of additional material not previously considered, specifically in relation to canola residues which should add more volume and value to the overall supply pool.
